Only Make Believe: My Life in Show Business
By Howard Keel, with Joyce Spizer
What a fun book this is to read! Howard Keel's stories are revealing, honest, and often hilarious. This wonderful singer, with the strongest voice ever to appear in M-G-M musicals, has told his life story with few apologies and with great warmth for the people he worked with -- and that includes the dinner and summer theatres as well as Broadway, London and Hollywood. Yes, the chapters are short and there are a few errors, but that doesn't detract from this lively book. As his wife Judy has said -- "This is the Real Keel!"
If you've enjoyed the marvelous singing and acting of Howard Keel, this book is must reading.
