Celebrating the 75th anniversary
of the author meeting Hopalong Cassidy
in New York in 1950
In June of 1950, Roger Lee Hall, who was then a very young Hoppy fan
and a child model
went with his mother to New York City
for a magazine shoot for the LOOK magazine
cover.
It was a meeting that Roger never forgot and now you can read his memories
of that meeting and much more.
Many years later, Roger celebrated Hoppy in his articles for
the Hoppy Fan Club in
Cambridge, Ohio,
where William Boyd grew up as a youngster
before moving to
California.
Roger received a trop0hy for his many articles
in the Hoppy Talk fan newsletter
Roger also wrote the music to a new song
and dedicated it in memory of Grace Bradley Boyd (Mrs. Hoplaong Cassidy),

"The Angels Handed Me A Rose (Hoppy's Song For Grace)"
with beautiful lyrics by Susie Coffman.

LOOK
magazine cover shoot.
Roger's personal story about that meeting is titled:
"The Day I Met Hoppy."
Years later, he met Grace Boyd, on the 100th anniversary of William Boyd's birth at

and
said she enjoyed reading it.
She told him she was in New York with her husband
when Roger met him in 1950.
The "Following the Stars" book is available
in the 4th edition as an ebook with many
added pictures.
Also Included in the book is an illustrated magazine article by Roger Hall about the

for the HOPPY TALK Fan Club Newsletter,

"FOLLOWING THE STARS: MUSIC AND MEMORIES OF HOPALONG CASSIDY" is by
