From The Pilgrims To The Shakers

This disc has music from the time of the landing of the Pilgrims to
the Shakers in the early 20th century. It includes music for historical periods, such as: the psalms of Pilgrims and Puritans (Nos. 1- 4); hymn for the end of the American Revolution (no. 11); song for the Second United States President based on an English drinking song (No. 17); songs during the Civil War (Nos. 21- 24). Holiday music is also included for Easter (No. 26) and Christmas (No. 27). The last three are Shaker spirituals (Nos. 28-30).
